Air Europa, in collaboration with AIRE, continue to move forward in the renewal of the interior image of the newer long-haul fleet.
This is part of the airline´s plan of improvements for the on board services in which it is immersed. Air Europa´s newer long-haul fleet is comprised of 10 B787 Dreamliners (B787-8 8ea and B787-9 2ea) which is gradually incorporating to complete a total of 24, the last of which will be received in 2022.
The extra conformable interior for passengers flying Tourist Class originally designed for the B787 is now being revamped. The new features include renewed seat fabric and carpets.
The new design is more current, productive and appealing and reflects Air Europa’s unique airline brand. Thus far the airline has reupholstered 4 of its B787-8 aircraft configured with B/E seats, and plans to fit the material across the remaining 6 in 2019, one every two months. The newer B787-9 will come with RECARO 3510 series seats and already have the new fabric installed. The seat manufacturer rushed to complete the certification before they are introduced in the fleet.
AIRE´s Center of Excellence in Madrid has been involve in the retrofit from conceptual design, product definition, manufacturing, certification, testing to installation.
